CBC Video - Halloween costumes for pets get popular


This is a pretty fun story we've got.

Mans best friend is getting in on the trick or treat action. = dogs are participating.

Her job today is to try on different costumes.

She's modelling the latest in banana costumes

Named for the strong female character in Alien. = her name is Ripley.

A whole lot of them are going to find themselves in a similar situation this Halloween.

Originally there were only a very few.

More than 20 costumes now.

They don't want the dog left out. = they want the dog to join them.

Tricks for treats sounds like a pretty good deal.

The so called chilling effect that's happening online. = a chilling effect is something that stops you from doing something. In this case, the chilling effect is the legal letter and threat from the company.
He suggests that people hold on to emails etc. just in case the review comes back to haunt them. = to scare them forever / for a long time.
I thought it was harmless. = not dangerous.
I feel like I can't just share my opinion freely.
The company has an obligation to correct untrue statements made
about it.
