Speaking Part 2 - Can Be Improved

• use more conjunctions such as: because, due to, furthermore, however etc.
• follow the order of the questions as written.
• use vocabulary related to the topic.
• don’t stop talking. If you stop, you might get confused. REMEMBER: you have the questions and your notes to look at!!!
• control the length of your speech, so you talk for at least 2 minutes, but you can talk more. The goal is to talk for 3-4 minutes in total, including any questions that the person giving the test asks you.
• be confident.
• be relaxed.
• speak clearly and powerfully.
• be coherent and cohesive = be clear and organized.

= put your other hand on the keypad, because that will change the temperature of the keypad and so that will confuse the robber / camera.

• We waste a lot of time on social media and we don’t see the world around us. My priorities are not in the real world, but are in the Internet.
• It’s easy to connect to other people, and that makes me more lazy, because I just need to open my computer to connect to people.
• We can easily find information, so we don’t need to go to the library and read a book. As well, this information isn’t always correct.
• We’ve lost the ability to remember things like phone numbers and birthdays.
• It impacts our judgement. There is too much information. Everyone talks about the same subject, gets the same opinion and that influences me.
• In the past, we would wait a week or more for a letter from our friends. Now we send a message and get a reply in a second. We used to be excited to receive letters and now we’re not.
• It’s a different style of communication with social media compared to communicating face to face. It may make it harder to communicate face to face.

• It damages our memory skills.
• We think our phone is vibrating / buzzing when it’s not. So our nervous system is being rewired / changed physically.

• Marriages are stronger between people who meet online. Why?

• Do you have a job at the moment?

= talked about my previous job and experience.

= I don’t have time now to work because I’m studying.

= I used to work at a bank as a Teller, and I found it very stressful, so that’s why I quit.

= I used to have some part time job as a singer when I was in university. It was hard to get a job, so when I got my first pay cheque, I bought a dress for my mom.
