What did you learn in that activity?

  • steep
  • plunge
  • up and upward = use “up” by itself, but use “upward” with a noun.
E.G. prices were up / an upward trend
  • dip
  • “erratic” doesn’t really work with “trend”. Instead, you can use “erratic” with “increase” or “decrease”.
  • trend = tendency. E.G. The trend has decreased slightly during the last year. There is a gradual increase in the trend of bicycle sales.
  • some of these nouns can also be used as verbs such as “peak” and “dip”.
  • soar
  • don’t forget your articles!!! = before a noun or before an adjective + noun you usually need something like an article, a number, a quantifier (many, a lot etc.) etc.
